The team here are at Striker Sport Horses is a small, friendly one. Each member brings something new to the team and everyone has an important role to play. Without the countless hours they put in against all types of British weather we wouldn't be able to offer public services and compete our horses across the country.
If you're interested in joining our passionate team, check our vacancies. |
The Owners
Jack Striker |
|
Jack has spent much of his life around horses, having quickly made friends with farm boys and rode ponies bareback herding sheep in his youth. Having spent almost twenty years riding and training Jumpers for others across the country, he purchased the farm and is running it under the family name.
At present he doesn't ride competitively, but enjoys Hunting during the Winter and offers training sessions through the year. All while training within the team.
Jasmine was one of those girls born in the saddle, imitating what others around her did and learning to hold reins before a bottle. She's never been away from the sport but has only recently started competing on a larger scale, and has begun training in college to one day qualify as a Equine Sports therapist.
Being petite Jasmine still rides and competes many of the stables ponies, but will always have a preference for Cobs. Nothing beats showing up the Warmbloods! |
Sophie always wanted to work with horses, spending many of her teenage years training at the local stables, loaning various horses/ponies and powering through her BHS stages. After school she took the sport more seriously and followed her passion to England, where she trained as an apprentice under a Event rider.
Since marrying Jack she has returned to Wales and taken a shine to riding and training the younger horses, competing a few in Eventing.

Riders and Trainers
Charles is the stables only trainer who doesn't ride, preferring to coach horse and rider from the ground in a traditional role. Though carrying your hot tea around is much easier on your own two feet. He has recently retired from full time teaching and works with us four days a week, unless it's showing season.
Welsh Cobs have always been Charles' main passion and he takes great pride in breeding and raising the breed, taking care of our small herd. |
Having grown up begging for a pony Steph has spent the majority of her life working in a range of places across the equestrian world, from riding schools to esteemed breeding facilities and all the way to a competitive stable in Australia. Thankfully she has settled back home and runs a tight ship on the yard.
Steph is the busiest person on the yard but is always has time to offer help or catch the stubborn horse. Though she would rather be hacking, or destroying a course. |
TRAVIS EVERSON |
Competitive rider
|
DONavon HALL |
Trainer, Competitive rider
|
Travis first found us through the Royal forces, having shown interest in the mounted police but having no riding experience. He trained with us, then returned to the forces. Now seven years on he happily flys around Cross Country courses like it's second nature, and has never looked back.
Travis rides and competes in Eventing, taking sole charge of stallion Blackwood. The pair do brilliantly and always come away muddy, bruised and wanting more. |
Recently returning to the United Kingdom from several years working and training as an Event rider in Australia, Don is a peaceful man. He keeps to himself, happily working through the yards to-do list with a spring in his step and coffee on hand. He's often lumped with everyone's tack cleaning for once saying how calming it is.
With long time ride out of active competing Don has taken a back seat from competing, and is currently helping to train horses and riders. |
